Gerry Elam
Born and raised in Mtn. View, a Liberty High School graduate, got my radio start at KUKU In Willow Springs “spinning discs”, vacuuming floors and mowing the lawn in 1977 ! Moved to KWPM in 1987 and have been hosting the morning show since 1995. My wife, Linda, has been putting up with me since the mid 70’s and we’re proud of our two daughters. Our other two “children” –Willow (our dog) and Shadow (our cat) round out our “line-up”. While I thoroughly enjoy talk radio, I still love music of all kinds and find myself going back to the music of my teen years –the 70’s—and good old Top 40 radio. I love the new technology and all the things computers and the like allow us to do in this business—but there’s still something about a pair of turntables and some cart machines and a news teleptype in the next room for your “rip and read” news. It seems like my first 31 years in radio have flown past (am I really that old now!) and am looking forward to the next 31 plus years—God willing !
